Above artwork by Supermundane

I got the inspiration for this project from a post at Zamorano Arts blog. It is a great art blog for kids. From this post I learned of the art of Supermundane. His work is so cool. Grafik magazine has called him the "The king of the repetitive doodle". The kids really enjoyed making monoprints last summer so I thought we'd try it again using Supermundane's creativity as our inspiration. First, each student rolled printmaking paint onto their plate (just a piece of acrylic) with a brayer. Then they used shish-kabob skewers to doodle on the plate. Next, a sheet of white paper was placed over the top and smoothed out over the ink. They were able to get three "prints" each out of one design. Great fun!
